The Opportunity: SV Flycatcher is a Swiss-maintained Galapagos 50 steel ketch, designed by D. Duvergie for extreme durability and oceanic comfort.
Following a successful 4,000nm crossing in 2025 (Kenya – Seychelles – Maldives – Malaysia), she has once again proven her status as a premier long-distance voyager.
To facilitate a smooth sale as the owner relocates, the price has been adjusted to USD 44,500. This reflects a significant "refit credit," allowing the new owner to manage the 2026 haul-out and standard maintenance while acquiring a world-class steel hull equipped with over $5,000 in brand-new 2024/25 electronics.
Modern Off-Grid Upgrades (2024–2025)
Flycatcher has been fully modernized for the 2025 cruising season with high-end connectivity and navigation systems:

Transparency: 2026 Maintenance Needs
We believe in honest selling. To return Flycatcher to 100% "ready-for-passage" condition, the following items are scheduled for 2026:
• Haul-Out: Due for standard hull cleaning and fresh antifouling (current estimate for haul-out and 2-month stand in Langkawi: ~$3,355).
• Sails: The Genoa requires professional stitching/repair following the 2025 crossing (Estimate: $2,000).
• Rigging: Partial rigging replacement is recommended to ensure safety for the next ocean crossing.
The $44,500 price point explicitly accounts for these maintenance items, offering a massive discount compared to the boat’s $68,000 market valuation.
Why Langkawi?
Purchasing in Langkawi is a major advantage for the new owner. As a duty-free port, all parts, sails, and rigging materials can be imported without tax. The local boatyards (Rebak and Nilam) offer high-quality labor at a fraction of European or Australian costs.
